Where did you put your nose?

The weather of the last monday morning was not friendly at all, plus I caught a cold so I decided to call in sick. Tried to breath properly, tried to go back to sleep after the late breakfast with the headache and fever. Around 2pm I got up to make a cup of tea; I saw a white envelope hanging on the inside of the door, containing a letter from a neighbor. It was typed and printed and in Dutch.
It is the first time from my experience in Europe, having a neighbor nagging about how you should order your garden. This neighbor apparently has been living here for 32 years, and in the area, the oldest inhabitant decides how you live and take care of your own house. They complained that we did not cut the grass regularly and how some wild grass grow on our parking spot.
The garden is fenced, the parking lot is private, we have no garbage lying around what so ever, it is just not tidy. But hell, bf and I are working every day till late, we are at the house only in the weekend, and cleaning the garden is not the most important thing we have to do. I have more things to do and I don't give a damn if their grass is greener than mine.
As much as I do not care about what they are saying, still, I find it really amazing how some old pensioner could really have nothing better to do but looking at somebody's garden, make a report to the housing company to punish us, and talk about through all the neighborhood.
It is sad and I would never grow old like those people. When their lives offer no more interesting things to sniff on, they put their nose on somebody else's business...
